This policy explains what personal data Carentza Cars collects when you visit carentzacars.com or rent a car with us, why we collect it, and your rights under Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA).

What we collect
- Booking details you send us on WhatsApp: your name, phone number, rental dates, pick-up and return places, and any messages.
- Documents for self-drive rental: your IC or passport, driving licence and, if needed, International Driving Permit. You send photos of them on WhatsApp or show them to us in person.
- Rental records: the car you rented, dates and times, mileage, deposit and payments.
- Website usage: pages visited, device and browser type, approximate location and which buttons you tap (for example a WhatsApp button), collected through cookies described below.
Our website has no forms and no accounts. You do not upload documents to the website.
How we use it
- To answer your enquiry, confirm your booking and deliver or hand over the car.
- To check that the driver is who they say they are and holds a valid licence.
- To identify the driver if a traffic summons arrives for the rental period, which can happen months after the rental.
- To keep payment and deposit records.
- To understand how visitors use the website and to measure our Google advertising.
Cookies and analytics
The website uses Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager and Google Ads to count visits and measure which pages and ads lead to WhatsApp enquiries. These services set cookies in your browser. Cloudflare, which hosts the website, may set cookies needed for security and performance.
For visitors from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, analytics and advertising cookies are switched off by default. You can block cookies in your browser settings, or opt out of Google Analytics with Google's browser add-on.
Who we share it with
- Authorities, when the law requires it, for example to name the driver for a traffic summons.
- Service providers that run the tools we use: WhatsApp (Meta) for messages, Google for analytics and advertising, and Cloudflare for hosting the website.
We do not sell your personal data.
How long we keep it
We keep your documents and rental records until every traffic summons for your rental period has been cleared, and then delete them. Records the law requires us to keep for longer, such as payment records, are kept only for as long as the law requires.
How we protect it
Documents are not uploaded to our website or stored on it. Only our staff can see the documents and booking details you send us.
Your rights
Under the PDPA you can ask to see the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or withdraw your consent to our use of it, unless we must keep it by law (for example for a summons). Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update it on this page and change the date at the top.
